Size Charts

Please read our measuring instruction below. If you are unsure about your size, take your measurements. Doing so will keep you from guessing and greatly reduce the need to return something that doesn't fit!

Please be aware that most cottons shrink to some extent when washed. It is important to consider this when deciding which size to buy.

How to Measure

Bust
If possible, get a friend to help. With arms relaxed at your side, measure the fullest part of your bust, keeping measuring tape parallel to the floor.

How to find your perfect bra fit:

STEP 1: Measure around your rib cage at the bottom of your current bra (keep the tape taut and level). Add 5" for your correct bra band size (32, 34, etc.)

STEP 2: Measure around the fullest part of the bust. Keep the tape parallel to the ground and do not pull too tight.

STEP 3: To determine cup size, subtract the band measurement (Step1) from the bust measurement (Step2). Compare the difference to the table below.

1" 2" 3" 4"
A cup B cup C cup D cup

Waist
Measure around your waist, in your underwear, at the point where you would normally wear a skirt. Keep one finger between the tape and your body.

Hips
Stand with your heels together, and measure the fullest part of your hips, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

Arm
Bend your elbow 90 degrees and place your hand on your hip. Hold tape at the center back of your neck. With a friend's help, measure across your shoulder to your elbow, and down to your wrist. The total length in inches is your sleeve length.

Fabric Care

Anything you purchase from The Lingerie Shop is guaranteed to be made of superior quality fabric that is always soft, luxurious and durable.

We concentrate on softness, ease of movement and uncomplicated care requirements. It's very easy to keep your pretty lingerie beautiful. Here is a guide to some of our most popular fabrics and how to care for them.

Please be aware that most cottons shrink to some extent when washed. It is important to consider this when deciding which size to buy.

Cotton Knit
Cotton knit can take many forms.
For sleepwear like nightgowns and pajamas we often use pima cotton, which is high in quality, ultra smooth and very, very soft.
For tees and tops, we like a bit of stretch and to keep them very lightweight. Piqué knit and waffle knit have nice textures and are a bit heftier. Rib knit is often used for cuffs, collars and hem bands.
In zippered tops, hoodies and casual robes, you will find lots of french terry, which can be light or heavy weight, smooth on the outside and cozy on the inside. Ponte knit is a smooth, heavy cotton knit which drapes beautifully. As sportswear and robes, it flatters every figure.

Cotton Knit Care
Machine wash in lukewarm water, gentle cycle. Tumble dry on low setting or hang to dry. Iron on warm setting if needed.

It is best to store cotton knit garments folded flat. Hang with care only on padded or velvet hangers; otherwise, the fabric may stretch and the garment may become distorted.

Combination Stretch and Cotton Modal
Many of our tees, tops and casual robes are made of cotton modal or combination fabrics to achieve a high degree of stretchiness. Modal or other combination stretch fabric is very smooth, extremely comfortable to wear and the easiest to care for. It rarely needs to get ironed and will look fresh and pretty all day. Our stretch fabrics are mostly a combination of varying percentages of cotton and lycra.

Combination Stretch and Cotton Modal Care
Machine wash in cold water, gentle cycle. Hang or lay flat to dry. Iron on low setting if needed.

It is best to store stretch knit garments folded flat. Hang with care only on padded or velvet hangers; otherwise, the hanger may leave marks in the fabric and the garment may become distorted.

Polyester and/or Rayon
Fabrics like these are generally very easy to wear and care for. We like to use these fabrics for many of our dressy robes and hostess gowns. Their beautiful flow and drape allows for elegance; their hardiness retards creasing.

Polyester and Rayon Care
Machine wash cold, gentle cycle. Hang to dry. Iron on low setting if needed. May be professionally dry cleaned unless the label specifically instructs you not to do so.

Nylon, Elastain
These are fabrics universally used for intimate garments like bras, girdles and slips. Treat them with gentle care and they will stay beautiful and wear well for a long time.

Nylon and Elastain Care
Hand wash in cool water. If using the hand wash cycle on your washing machine, it is best to place garments in nylon or net zippered laundry lingerie bags. Hang or lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry. Do not iron. Do not dry clean.
